National Chiropractic Health Month
October is Chiropractic Health Month. The Taproot Doctors recently petitioned the Bulverde City Council to declare October 2022 Chiropractic Health Month in Bulverde.
Why is Chiropractic Health Month important?
With the opioid epidemic out of control in the US, drug-free, non-invasive options for pain management are becoming more and more important. Chiropractic is the best, most-effective option for a drug-free approach to pain. Doctors of Chiropractic learn to decrease pain using the adjustment, soft tissue therapies, physiotherapy (exercises), and other rehab modalities such as EMS, decompression, laser, and needing.
What many people don't realize about opioid addiction, is that opioids, even used exactly as prescribed are addictive. When the prescription runs out and won't be refilled (because opioids are addictive and only prescribed short-term), the user turns to elicit drugs. If Chiropractors can get these people out of pain, without the use of the opioid in the first place, the epidemic will slowly end.
Although Chiropractic is more main-stream that it once was, our doctors are still confronted daily with patients who have never received care or are scared to do so. Many of you probably know someone who would "never go to a chiropractor" and suffers with pain daily.
If you'd like to learn more about why Chiropractic sometimes gets a bad rap which includes the history of the marginalization of the chiropractic profession read it here: https://chiro.org/Wilk/
Our Doctors LOVE treating their patients. We strive to do our best to make every patient more comfortable before leaving our office. If you know someone who is scared to see a chiropractor but could really benefit from our care, let us know. 15 minute initial consultations are always free in our office.
