Taproot Chiropractic & Wellness FAQ (Bulverde, TX)
What conditions do you treat?
We help patients with a wide range of issues, from everyday pain to more complex dysfunction. Common reasons people come to Taproot include:
-
Neck pain, back pain, and sciatica
-
Headaches and tension-related pain
-
Sports injuries and care for young athletes
-
Auto accident (motor vehicle) injuries
-
Muscle tightness, movement restrictions, and posture-related strain
-
Chronic pain patterns and recurring flare-ups
-
Nervous system stress and dysfunction that affects how the body heals
We also work with patients who have more complicated histories, including people managing chronic health conditions. While we don’t claim to “treat disease,” we often support patients through pain, inflammation, and nervous system dysregulation in a way that complements their medical care.

Do you treat athletes and sports injuries?
Yes. We treat young athletes, adult athletes, and active people who want to move better, recover faster, and prevent recurring injuries.
We commonly help with sports-related issues like:
-
shoulder and hip strain
-
knee pain
-
ankle and foot issues
-
mobility restrictions
-
muscle tightness and overuse injuries
Do you take insurance?
Taproot Chiropractic and Wellness is an out-of-network practice. This allows us to provide thorough, high-quality care without being limited by insurance rules.
If you have out-of-network benefits, we can provide a detailed receipt you may be able to submit for reimbursement.
Medicare note: We are not an in-network Medicare provider. If you are a Medicare patient, we’re happy to explain your options and what Medicare does and does not cover.
How much does chiropractic care cost?
Our pricing is based on the services you need and the care plan that fits your goals.
Some patients only need chiropractic care, while others benefit from additional therapies that may require multiple sessions (such as decompression, laser, or other supportive services). We’ll always explain pricing clearly and answer questions before you begin care. You can always find an updated list of services and pricing on our Services Page.

How long does it take to feel better after chiropractic care?
Some people feel improvement right away, while others need a few visits to see consistent change. Your response depends on your condition, how long it’s been going on, and how your body is functioning overall.
Our goal is to help you feel better quickly, then keep you improving steadily.
How often will I need to come in?
Most patients begin with a short, focused care plan. The goal early on isn’t just relief—it’s changing patterns in the body.
When your muscles, joints, and nervous system have been compensating for a long time, your body develops “muscle memory.” We focus on correcting those patterns so your results actually last.
After that initial phase, many patients transition into a lower-frequency schedule based on:
-
how your body is responding
-
your goals
-
your activity level
-
whether you’re trying to prevent future flare-ups
99% of patients choose to continue with maintenance care (often monthly) because it helps them stay mobile, active, and out of pain long-term.
Do you treat kids?
Yes. We love caring for families, and our care is always age-appropriate and gentle.
We also offer family-friendly scheduling options, including monthly visits for families who want consistent wellness care in a way that’s manageable and realistic.
Is chiropractic safe during pregnancy?
In most cases, yes. Prenatal chiropractic care is widely used to support comfort, mobility, and pelvic balance during pregnancy.
We use safe, pregnancy-friendly techniques and always tailor care to the individual. If you have a high-risk pregnancy or complications, we’ll coordinate with your medical provider and make sure your care is appropriate. Have more questions about pregnancy care? Check out our pregnancy page.
What should I expect at my first visit?
Your first visit includes:
-
A detailed history
-
A full exam
-
Treatment the same day (as long as no red flags are found)
We’ll explain what we’re seeing, what we think is going on, and what the next steps should be.
If we believe you need imaging, additional testing, or another type of provider, we will refer you out and help you get connected to the right next step.
Your second visit is typically when we sit down and go over your recommended care plan in more detail, based on what we found during your exam. See more about what to expect here.
Do you offer anything besides adjustments?
Yes—Taproot is known for being more comprehensive than the average chiropractic office.
Depending on your needs, your care may include a combination of therapies designed to help your body heal, stabilize, and hold results longer.
